Summer Reading Program!

Boonville, NY – Get ready for a summer brimming with imagination, adventure, and color at the Erwin Library! Our “Color Our World” Summer Program is set to launch, offering a diverse lineup of free and low-cost events designed to spark joy and curiosity in all ages.

The fun kicks off with Summer Story Hour with Mrs. Hannah, starting Tuesday, July 8th at 10 AM. Every Tuesday, children of all ages can enjoy a special story, a delightful craft, and a yummy snack.

Prepare for a theatrical treat on Thursday, July 10th at 6 PM as The Rev Theatre presents “Rumpelstiltskin – Unspun” on the library lawn. All ages are welcome to this amazing performance, and Rusty’s Hot Dog Cart will be on-site, so you can enjoy dinner and a show! (Sponsored by the REV Theatre)

Unleash your creativity at our Special Tie-Dye Teddy Bear Workshop on Thursday, July 17th at 1 PM. Design your own colorful friend for just $10. Spaces are limited, so call 315-942-4834 to register starting June 17th. This workshop is for ages 5 and up.

Ahoy, mateys! Set sail for a thrilling “Reading With Captain Jack” Story Hour on Thursday, July 24th at 1 PM. Join Captain Jack (played by Rick Martinez) and discover your inner pirate!

Things are about to get gloriously messy at our Messtival on Thursday, July 31st at 1 PM! Unleash your inner artist across four unique painting experiences: archery, feet, monster truck, and splat painting. Prepare to get colorful – bringing towels for the ride home is highly recommended! (Made possible through the Dollar General Literacy Foundation)

The wild side comes to Boonville on Thursday, August 7th at 11 AM as The Zoomobile returns! Get an up-close look at incredible animals and learn all about their amazing environments.

Due to popular demand, we’re hosting a second Teddy Bear Workshop on Thursday, August 14th at 3 PM! Create your very own stuffed animal for $10. Registration begins July 29th; call 315-942-4834 to secure your spot.

Don’t miss our Annual Summer Book Sale on Saturday, August 16th from 10 AM – 2 PM. Find books for all ages and interests, from fiction to self-help, all while supporting your local library!

Finally, prepare to be amazed by Bubble Mania with Doug Rougeux on Thursday, August 21st at 3 PM! Kids of all ages will be captivated by giant, shimmering spheres, intricate bubble sculptures, and tons of bubbly fun. (Sponsored by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation)

Read & Bead

Kids get ready to read this summer! Starting July 1st and running through August 30th, pick up your free Read & Bead chart at the library and start your reading journey. For every 15 minutes you read, you’ll earn a colorful bead to add to your necklace or bracelet!
Look out for “Special Beads,” available only on Fridays (limit 3 per visit!).
Plus, all participants will be entered into a drawing to win a fantastic family ice cream basket, complete with everything you need for a perfect ice cream night, including a $25 gift card to Stewart’s Shops!

Every Tuesday this group meets to work together on their knitting and crocheting projects. This group is for all levels, from beginner to advanced, and together will help you get the project done.
